Join us in discussion regarding the LGBT community in Cuba with guest speaker, Al Fox, and for a few words from Terry Fleming, President of the Florida LGBTA Democratic Caucus.


Albert A. Fox, Jr. is a graduate of the University of Maryland, is the Founder and President of the Alliance for Responsible Cuba Policy Foundation. The Alliance was founded in November 1998 to reestablish trade and diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba. He has made more than 100 legal visits to Cuba in the past fifteen years. These visits have included meetings with former President Fidel Castro, President Raul Castro, numerous high ranking Cuban officials and Cuban citizens at every level. Mr. Fox has served as a senior congressional staff assistant in both the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. A successful lobbyist and businessman, he has more than 40 years of experience in the federal government and private sector

Please join us in welcoming Grant Drain to continue our discussion surrounding transgender issues.

Grant Drain

Grant is a Tampa Bay native and advocate for transgender rights across the state. He serves as Director of Communications for Florida Transgender Alliance and is currently working on the Tampa Bay Transgender Needs Survey in cooperation with TransAction Florida, Metro Wellness, and Pinellas Youth Pride. Recently, he helped coordinate the the candlelight vigil for India Clarke, a trans woman of color murdered in Tampa. In March, Grant testified before committee in opposition to anti-transgender legislation in the Florida House of Representatives. Grant transitioned from female to male in his teens, graduated from St. Petersburg College, and has served as a member of the business community as a retail manager for many years.
